Assedio di Maestricht - 100 Stuivers 1794 - Hennin 640; De Mey e Poindessault n. 1068 - AG (g 30,19) Durante il mese di settembre 1794 le armate francesi comandate da Pichegrù e da Jourdan attaccarono Nimègue e posero l’assedio a Maestricht. Quest’ultima piazzaforte dei Paesi Bassi era difesa da 9.000 austriaci comandati dal principe di Hesse. Dopo un’eroica difesa, la città distrutta dalle bombe incendiarie si arrese ai francesi il 4 novembre. Ex Künker del 17/6/2008, lotto 1224. In asta Elsen dell’11/3/2006 un esemplare in conservazione BB di grammi 30,18 (lotto 388), stimato € 750, è stato aggiudicato per € 1.320
