Monumentale opera in cui, per la prima volta, vengono pubblicate duecento fotografie di una delle più importanti collezioni di fotografia. Le immagini, selezionate da Pierre Apraxine, curatore della collezione Gilman, ripercorrono la storia della fotografia dalla prima metà dell'800 agli anni 60. Esemplare raro a trovarsi tirato in 1200 copie (ns. es. n. 231). Ottime condizioni.
