PALERMO Vittorio Amedeo II (re di Sicilia, 1713-1718) 3 Tarì 1713 - MIR 896/a (variante con SICI al D/9 AG (g 7,74) RRRRR Depositi al D/ e al R/ ma comunque di ottima qualità per il tipo di moneta. Vittorio Amedeo II divenne re di Sicilia il 13 luglio 1713 e alla fine di ottobre il sovrano si recò a Palermo dove, alla vigilia di Natale, venne incoronato nella Cattedrale. La zecca continuò a funzionare anche a nome di Vittorio Amedeo. La produzione in rame fu molto abbondante mentre quella in oro e in argento fu estremamente limitata tanto che nel MIR i nominali sono quasi tutti riportati col massimo della rarità, R/10. Il nominale da 3 tarì come questo si inserisce in una serie d’argento composta anche dal 4, dal 2 e dal tarì, tutti datati 1713. Può essere che l’intera serie sia stata battuta proprio per celebrare l’incoronazione e mai più ripresa.
